New York State should be on the forefront of women's issues. We must protect reproductive rights, ensure access to affordable health care, child care and elder care and stand against sexual harassment, abuse and assault.

Alessandra Biaggi

Alessandra got her start working in public policy in Albany. After seeing how the rogue Democrats in the State Senate were preventing progressive legislation from getting passed in order to fill their personal coffers, she decided to take action. Her passion for women's rights has led her to introduce a bill to protect victims of harassment and assault within the capitol. As she puts it, she expects all elected officials to "lead with love".

Jessica was working for Mayor DeBlasio when she realized that her State Senator was part of the problem. Like many New Yorkers, she felt particularly activated after the 2016 elections to do something. "My district is the most diverse in the state of New York. When our community was being attacked on the federal level, I felt it was my duty to work to ensure we had protections on the state level."
